Since 2005, Wayne Maxwell been answering the call of the older urban professional looking to unwind from a week full of demands, deadlines, and stresses while also indulging in stimulating conversation, and feasting on delicious dining. The success of this is due to Wayne’s promotional company, Maxwell Entertainment, by way of “After Work Fridays” at the luxurious Taj Lounge in Manhattan, NY. In addition to creating a relaxing environment for his guests, Wayne prides his events with offering a mixture of music from reggae tone to Latin to hip hop. An emphasis is placed on old school jams.
“One of the main elements missing in the party scene is [that] you don’t have a tremendous amount of places in the city to go to get the old school flavor you used to back in the 70s, 80s, and early 90s,” explains Wayne, who has been involved in the promotions/entertainment industry since the early 80s.
Not only does thedj spin records from time-honored artists from these eras, Maxwell Entertainment actually brings in these artists to perform live shows. Since this has been added to “After Work Fridays,” Wayne has been able to showcase D Train, Skyy, Colonial Abrams, Fonda Rae, Johnny Kemp, and many other artist.
Every Friday night has been packed, too, as “After Work Friday” participants partake of a free buffet from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. that consists of a variety of different appetizers.
